Insights into international working environments

Our trainee Judy, who is studying wholesale and foreign trade management, had the opportunity to take part in a trainee exchange program in France. GBC is delighted to see our young talent gaining practical experience, gaining international experience, and developing her professional and intercultural skills.

The trip began with a train journey from Worms to La Rochelle. On the way, Judy stopped off in Paris and enjoyed the view over the city. It was a special start to the trip, which whetted her appetite for the experiences that lay ahead in France.

During her stay, Judy was able to get to know different working and learning environments: from the partner school in La Rochelle to language courses and visits to regional companies. The opportunity to gain new perspectives through exchanges with French trainees and colleagues was particularly valuable.

Practical learning and language skills

An important part of the exchange was attending classes at the partner school. Judy was not only able to use her language skills there, but also gave presentations on the European Union in German, English, and French together with her exchange partner Eva. The practical tasks helped her develop both her technical and communication skills. Both of these skills are particularly in demand at GBC in its daily full-service advertising work.

On-site company insights

In addition to the school, Judy had the opportunity to visit regional companies such as Léa Nature. There she gained valuable insights into corporate management, production processes, and employee models. These experiences give her a better understanding of different business processes and the requirements of international markets. A real bonus for her training and her work at GBC.

Culture, city life, and personal encounters

Judy also gained a wealth of impressions outside of class and company visits: she explored the city of La Rochelle, visited an aquarium, and enjoyed the local cuisine. In particular, her personal encounters with her exchange partner and the other participants enabled her to strengthen her intercultural skills and make valuable contacts.

Experiences for the future

The trainee exchange in France was an enriching experience for Judy. She returns with new technical knowledge, expanded language skills, and a deeper understanding of international working methods. With these experiences, she is well equipped to actively shape her training at GBC and further enrich our company's full-service advertising offerings.
